Trust underlay snaffle bit double jointed. The mouthpiece has sweet iron parts. Sweet iron has the property that it rusts easily and therefore gets a sweet taste.
sweet iron:
Sweet iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and stimulates saliva production in a natural way. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to brown-grey. When a sweet iron bit is temporarily not used, an orange-brown layer of rust can form on the mouthpiece. This can be easily removed by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
